Duty is an action that citizens are required to perform ,rather Responsibility is an action that
Citizens should perform.
Like some Duties are -
● We must respect the National Flag and National Anthem,
● obey the laws of our country,
● protect the power, unity and integrity of the country,
● safeguard public property,
● pay our taxes with honesty promptly,
● protect and preserve cultural heritage sites,
● protect, preserve and improve the natural environment,
● we must guard the country and maintain the spirit of a common brotherhood,
● We must respect, value and follow all the noble ideals used in the national struggle for
freedom.
But rather ,
Responsibilities are -
● Be informed and vote
● Participate in your community and government
● Respect different opinions...
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru the first Prime Minister of our India also had said,"Citizenship consists
in the service of the country".
Means citizenship consists not merely in enjoying certain rights but also in discharging our
duties towards the nation.
In a democratic country we have rights , duties and responsibilities.
To maintain a healthy democracy we need independent media, a free judicial system ,
accountable government and most importantly RESPONSIBLE CITIZEN.
Being a responsible citizen required a lot of effort.
If citizens are not conscious of their rights, duties or responsibilities, then democracy will no
longer call democracy.
Because democracy is solely centered on citizen So when they are not responsible for their own
responsibilities, how can we imagine a healthy democracy?
Electing a government and blindly believing in them is not a sign of a responsible citizen, rather
being a watchdog for the actions of the government and questioning them and their policies is a
true responsible citizen.
when we talk about common people, they have no time to think and analyze the situation
and that is why they can be manipulated by anyone regarding their sentiments and faith.
That's why without facts and logic we should not charit ourselves for manipulation.
For being a responsible citizen and being a part of impartial democratic India we must take
some responsibilities like -
● Updating ourselves with current actions
● Questioning
● Participating in making laws
● Opposing wrong things
● Avoid rumer and WhatsApp University .
